Understanding Allergy, Individual Marker, Mulberry
What is Allergy, Individual Marker, Mulberry?
Allergy, Individual Marker, MULBERRY is a blood test that helps detect an allergy to mulberry, a type of berry fruit. This test measures the amount of antibodies present in the blood sample against the allergen in mulberry. Allergies to mulberries are rare but can affect an individual severely.
If you are allergic to mulberries, your body’s immune system gets triggered. Your body
sees this allergen as a toxic substance that needs to be attacked by the IgE antibodies. These antibodies are responsible for releasing a substance called histamine in your body that causes an allergic reaction.
Symptoms include runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, hives, itchy skin, diarrhea, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock. Anaphylactic shock can prove to be fatal in some cases.
