Overview
What is NCCT Hand?
Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) is a non-invasive imaging technique for identifying any anatomical defect or unexplained pain in hand, a bone fracture that is not visible in normal X-ray, infection/osteoporosis/deformity/arthritis, soft tissue inflammation in muscles, ligaments or tendons, or abnormal bone growth.
In the NCCT hand, rotating X-ray beams are used to generate a three-dimensional image of the hand that can be used to identify bone defects. Since the technique is based on X-ray usage, pregnant women should inform their doctor before the test as exposure to the X-rays can be harmful to the fetus. NCCT hand is a painless test. The X-rays can be detrimental to young children as well.
Why is NCCT Hand done?
- • To detect the fractures of the bones of the hand not visible on a simple X-ray • To detect the cause of any unexplained pain in the hand • To detect any infection, injury or inflammation of the soft tissues like the muscle, the tendons and ligaments of the hand • To diagnose any suspected infection, osteoporosis, deformities or abnormal growth of the bones and arthritis (inflammation of the joints) • To guide and monitor biopsy or the operative procedures of the hand

Mahajan Imaging has a history of bringing new technologies into the private sector in the country for example standing weight bearing MRI, Cone Beam Dental CT, functional MRI, MR tractography, MR mammography, CT coronary angiography, 4D ultrasound with tomography, PET-CT, CT-guided robotic biopsy, digital mammography and DEXA bone densitometry. Continuing the said trend, they have recently installed Asia’s 1st Silent MRI technology and India’s first Dual Energy Spectral CT Scanner with the most...
