What is CECT Scan PNS - Coronal View?
A CECT PNS - Coronal or Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography of the Paranasal Sinuses (PNS) is a structural imaging technique. It uses highly focused X-ray beams and contrast material to capture multiple cross-sectional images of the paranasal sinuses.
These images help physicians identify and assess the abnormalities in the paranasal region, including chronic sinusitis or presence of fluid in the sinus cavities. These abnormalities may be present if the following symptoms are present:
Difficulty breathing because of nasal congestion
Postnasal discharge
Having many CECT PNS - Coronal over time may increase the risk of developing side effects. However, most reactions are mild. An abnormal scan test may indicate presence of chronic sinusitis (infection in the sinus cavities), inflammation, or growths in the paranasal regions of the nasal cavity.
