How Tiagabine works
Tiagabine controls seizures by increasing the levels of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Frequently asked questions for Tiagabine
No, Tiagabine is not habit forming. There are no reports of it causing any physical or psychological dependence.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. But, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you have missed more than one dose, call your doctor for instructions about re-starting your medication.
It is important to take Tiagabine at prescribed interval. Plan ahead and ask your doctor to help you adjust to time zone changes. Carry Tiagabine in its original packaging along with doctor’s prescription. Tiagabine may be available abroad depending on your destination. If vomiting has occurred within 1 hour of taking Tiagabine, then you can repeat the dose. In case you vomit after an hour of taking the medicine, then it must have been absorbed and you need not take another dose. Contact your doctor in case of any queries and worries.
Phenytoin may interfere with the working of Tiagabine. Therefore, the dose of Tiagabine may have to be adjusted if both are taken together.
