Nitrofurantoin + Cranberry Extract is a combination of two medicines. Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria in the urine that causes infection. Cranberry Extract is an extract from cranberry fruit. It prevents the bacteria from connecting to the other bacteria to form a biofilm (colony) in the urinary tract (urine pipe), thus hampers the growth and multiplication of the bacteria. This is how it works to treat urinary tract infection.
