Mizolastine is used in the treatment of allergic eye disease, nasal allergy symptoms, allergic conditions, sneezing and runny nose due to allergies and allergic skin conditions.
How Mizolastine works
Mizolastine is an antihistaminic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body.

Frequently asked questions for Mizolastine
Mizolastine is used to treat symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other allergic reactions, causing irritation of the eyes and nose. It is also used to treat allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, urticaria or hives (pale red, raised and itchy skin rashes).
Mizolastine should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water; do not chew or crush it. Mizolastine may be taken with or without food, but it is advised to take it at a fixed time to avoid skipping a dose.
If you feel dizzy while taking Mizolastine, lie down for some time and then get up slowly. Move slowly and cautiously while walking or doing activities. Avoid coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and recreational medicines. If dizziness persists or worsens, consult your doctor.
Some antacids contain aluminum and magnesium. Such antacids may decrease the absorption of Mizolastine and lower its levels, thereby interfering with the working of this medicine. It is recommended that you keep a gap of 2 hours between the two medicines.
Yes, you should avoid drinking grape juice, orange juice and apple juice while taking Mizolastine. These might make you more likely to have side effects. However, if not sure, consult your doctor.
