How Dalfampridine works
Dalfampridine is a potassium channel blocker. It works by strengthening the communication between nerves and muscles. This results in improved muscle activity – in this case, walking – in people with multiple sclerosis.

Dalfampridine is used in the therapy of multiple sclerosis. It acts by increasing the conduction in the damaged neurons by blocking potassium channels. The effect with this medicine can be seen with an increase in walking speed in treated patients.
Patients with kidney problems, allergic to Dalfampridine, or who ever had an episode of seizure should not take Dalfampridine. You should consult your doctor before you start taking this medication.
Usually this medication is to be stored at 15ºC to 30ºC. The medicine should be stored in the original packaging in order to protect from light and moisture. Do not use the medicine after its expiry date. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Usually, it is advised to take one tablet twice daily with or without food about 12 hours apart. Take the medicine whole, do not break, crush, or chew.
