Cyproterone + Ethinyl Estradiol + Folic Acid is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol, and Folic Acid which treat PCOS symptoms such as acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) and irregular menstrual cycle (periods). Cyproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens (male hormones) in the ovaries thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood circulation. Folic Acid is a form of vitamin B. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also used to treat or prevent low folate levels due to poor diet. Together, they also regularize the menstrual cycle in PCOS.
