How Ciprofloxacin + Ambroxol works
Ciprofloxacin + Ambroxol is a combination of two medicines: Ciprofloxacin and Ambroxol which treat respiratory tract infection associated with excessive mucus (phlegm). Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Addition of ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of ciprofloxacin.

Expert advice for Ciprofloxacin + Ambroxol
- Take it at the same time every day either with or without food.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Discontinue Ciprofloxacin and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
- Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
- Do not use Ciprofloxacin + Ambroxol for more than 14 days, without your doctor’s advice.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
