Introduction

Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancer that affects humans. There are two types of lung cancers based on tumor cells: small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Some NSCLC cancer cells undergo genetic mutations, forming abnormal epidermal growth factor receptor proteins (EGFR). These abnormal proteins help in the growth and progression of cancer to other parts of the body and such cancer is called EGFR+NSCLC.

The Dacoplice 15mg Tablet is a prescription medicine primarily given to treat patients with EGFR+NSCLC that has spread to other parts of the body. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells, thus reducing the size of the tumor and relieving symptoms

It is usually taken once daily with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. The dose and duration of the treatment may depend on condition severity and response to the treatment. Follow the doctor’s instructions and do not stop the medication unless advised otherwise. If you vomit or miss a dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule.

Some common side effects of the Dacoplice 15mg Tablet include diarrhea, skin rash, dry skin, nail infections, inflammation of the mouth or lips, loss of appetite, and weight loss. It may also cause hair loss, cough, and itching in some people. Consult the doctor if any of these side effects bother or get worse. The doctor may adjust the dose depending upon any side effects that one may experience. The doctor may also monitor these by carrying out regular blood tests.

Before taking the Dacoplice 15mg Tablet, let the doctor know about any other medicines that you are taking. Also, tell them if you have a history of frequent diarrhea, lung or breathing problems, or other medical conditions. Additionally, let them know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as this medicine can cause harmful effects on the baby’s development.

Benefits of Dacoplice 15mg tablet

The Dacoplice 15mg Tablet helps relieve the symptoms associated with EGFR+NSCLC. These may include persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, blood in cough, etc. This medicine is a targeted cancer therapy, that is, it differentiates cancer cells from normal cells, thereby leaving normal, healthy cells unharmed. It may be used alone or in combination with other standard treatment modalities.

It blocks the action of specific proteins like epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal receptor (HER2 and HER4), that are responsible for the growth and spread of the tumor.
