If you’re feeling sudden body aches or sharp pain, don’t ignore it. Here’s how to assess it quickly and take the right next steps.

Stop what you’re doing and tune in. Where’s the pain? Is it sharp, dull, burning, or throbbing? Understanding it helps guide your response.

If the pain follows activity, your body may need rest. Sit or lie down comfortably. Avoid pushing through—it can worsen the issue.

Use ice for swelling or injury (first 24–48 hrs), and heat for stiff or tight muscles. Always use a cloth barrier to protect your skin.
