Detox teas may cause a temporary drop in weight due to water loss and increased bowel movements. This is not fat loss and the weight often returns once normal hydration and eating patterns resume.

Ingredients like senna, a natural laxative found in many detox teas, can lead to stomach cramps, diarrhea, and nausea. Prolonged use may result in dependency on laxatives for bowel movements.
