Anxilor 2mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat short term anxiety. It helps to decrease the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells and calms the brain.
Anxilor 2mg Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food. However, take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it has high potential of habit-forming. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to doctor as it may increase seizure frequency.
Some common side effects of this medicine includes fatigue and balance disorder. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.

Q. Is Anxilor 2mg Tablet an opioid? Is it a habit-forming medicine?
No, Anxilor 2mg Tablet is not an opioid. It belongs to the benzodiazepine group of medicines and is used for short-term treatment (2-4 weeks) only. It is a habit-forming medicine and can make a person physically and psychologically dependent.
Q. Can Anxilor 2mg Tablet be used as a sleeping pill?
Anxilor 2mg Tablet is used for sleeping difficulties caused due to short-term anxiety. One of the very common side effects of Anxilor 2mg Tablet is drowsiness and sleepiness. It calms the mind, and therefore, helps a person to sleep.
Q. For how long will Anxilor 2mg Tablet stay in my system?
Anxilor 2mg Tablet may take around 3 days to get completely removed from the system.
Q. Are there any symptoms that I would experience if I get addicted to Anxilor 2mg Tablet?
The most important symptom of addiction is that you may feel unpleasant if you do not take Anxilor 2mg Tablet. Another symptom could be that you may increase the dose on your own to feel its effect.
Q. If I suddenly stop taking Anxilor 2mg Tablet, will it affect me adversely?
You should reduce the dose of Anxilor 2mg Tablet gradually before completely stopping it. Suddenly stopping it may lead to withdrawal symptoms which include loss of the sense of reality, feeling detached from life, and unable to feel emotion. Some patients have also experienced numbness or tingling in the arms or legs, tinnitus (ringing sounds in the ears), uncontrolled or overactive movements, twitching, shaking, feeling sick, being sick, stomach upsets or stomach pain, loss of appetite, agitation and abnormally fast heart beats. It can also cause panic attacks, dizziness or feeling faint, memory loss, hallucinations, feeling stiff and unable to move easily, feeling very warm, convulsions (sudden uncontrolled shaking or jerking of the body) and oversensitivity to light, sound and touch.
Q. Does Anxilor 2mg Tablet cause weight gain?
The effect of Anxilor 2mg Tablet on weight gain or loss is not known.
Q. Does Anxilor 2mg Tablet cause depression?
If you have a history of depression then it may increase the risk of developing depression again. Anxilor 2mg Tablet should not be used alone in depressed patients because it may cause suicidal tendencies in such patients.
Q. My old uncle is taking Anxilor 2mg Tablet for sleeplessness associated with anxiety. Can it affect his memory?
Though it is rare, but use of Anxilor 2mg Tablet can cause memory impairment, which may be more apparent in old age patients.
Q. Are there any harmful effects of taking more than the recommended doses of Anxilor 2mg Tablet?
Taking more than the recommended dose of Anxilor 2mg Tablet may cause loss of muscle control, low blood pressure, mental confusion, slow breathing and even coma. If you have taken higher than the recommended dose of Anxilor 2mg Tablet, seek immediate medical help immediately.
