    Commonly known as Yellow Jasmine, gelsemium is a deep acting remedy that is indicated in people who are quite, like to stay alone, and dull. This remedy acts on especially the nervous and muscular systems of the body and helps in resolving following symptoms. Complaints that start after side effects of fear, bad news, exciting news, sudden emotions, sun, summer heat. Patient is always thirstless with all complaints, even during fever.


    Dullness, languor, listless.
    Apathy regarding his illness
    Bad effects from fright, fear, exciting news


    Dizziness that spreads from base of the head
    Head feels heavy along with sensation of tightness around the head
    Pain in the sides of head travelling towards ears, nose and chin
    Headache is relieved by keeping head raised on pillow
    Headache relieved by passing large quantities of urine
    Headache with double vision or loss of vision temporarily, begins with blindness .


    Sensation as if there is lump in throat
    Difficulty in swallowing of warm foods, causes pain in ear


    Patient gets the feeling that he has to keep moving or else his heart will stop beating


    Motor paralysis. muscles refuse to obey. (stroke)
    Great weakness and trembling of whole body.
    Diarrhoea from anxiety before a meeting, exam or appointment
    Pain from throat to ear


    Fever with sensation of chill running up and down the spine
    Wants to be held, because he shakes so
    Chill, without thirst, along spine; wave-like, extending upward from sacrum to occiput

    Dose- As prescribed by physician. Can be taken along with other allopathic medicines.

    Side effects: None


    Maintain half an hour gap between food/drink/any other medicines and homeopathic medicine.
    Avoid any strong smell in the mouth while taking medicine e.g. camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, hing.
