What is X - Ray Oesophageal Area AP(F.Body)?
An X-ray Oesophageal Area AP(F.Body) is a less invasive procedure that aids in seeing the fibula and talus. The X-ray picture is black and white. Dense features like bones appear white, while softer bodily components like skin and muscles appear darker. The actual radiation exposure period is often less than a second, while the entire test may take between 15-20 minutes.
An X-ray Oesophageal Area AP (F.Body) identifies accidentally ingested external objects such as chicken or fish bones, buttons, marbles, screws, button batteries, and straight pins in children and determine the location of swallowed fish bones, coins, fruit pits, straight pins, and dentures in adults, also find blockage created by external objects in the upper gastrointestinal tract, result in upper GI infections.

- To detect accidental engulfed foreign objects like engulfed chicken or fish bones, buttons, marbles, screws, button batteries, straight pins in children
- To trace the position of accidental swallowed fish bones, coins, fruit pits, straight pins, dentures in adults
- To diagnose the extent of intestinal damage like bleeding due to abrasion of the foreign objects
- To find out the obstruction caused due to foreign bodies in the the upper GI which can lead to infections of the upper GI
