Know more about this test

The T cell receptor (beta) gene receptor rearrangement study test is used to detect abnormal or clonal T-cell populations that may be linked to T-cell lymphomas or leukemias. It specifically examines the T-cell receptor beta (TCR-β) gene to identify gene rearrangements that occur when T-cells multiply uncontrollably. Using PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), the test helps determine whether the T-cell population is monoclonal (suggesting a possible malignancy) or polyclonal (indicating a normal or reactive immune response). This test is often used alongside other diagnostic tools to support the diagnosis of T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders, especially when results from other methods are unclear.

Note: One representative block of the tumor is required. However, 1-4 representative blocks of tumors are acceptable.
