Glucose Tolerance Test, 100g Glucose, Pregnancy (at TATA 1mg Labs Centre) is done during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes, which is a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. The test works by measuring the body's response to glucose after ingestion of 100 g of glucose (flavored or plain). This test comprises 4 blood sample collections. The first sample will be taken in a fasting state (minimum 8 hours fasting). After giving the fasting sample, you will be asked to drink 100 g glucose dissolved in 300 mL of water and consume over 5 minutes. Your next blood samples will be collected after 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours of drinking the glucose solution.
