Epstein Barr Virus VCA IgG in Ghaziabad

The test detects antibodies against Viral Capsid antigen (VCA ) of EBV. EBV causes mononucleosis, a disorder associated with fatigue, sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes & enlarged spleen. The virus is present in the saliva of the patients and is very contagious. Anti-VCA IgG are present in the acute phase of EBV infection & reaches at maximum at 2-4 weeks after onset of infection . The test can also be ordered in the absence of symptoms in immunocompromised person who has been in close contact with the infected person.
