What is CD45 LCA?
CD45 or Cluster of Differentiation 45, a marker protein also known as Leukocyte Common Antigen is expressed on blood cells like eosinophils, lymphocytes, monocytes and human leukocytes. The test is done to detect the presence of CD45 in cells and tissues.
Why is CD45 LCA done?
- To confirm presence of inflammatory cells, including intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes
- To confirm hematopoietic nature of tumors
- To assist in classification of lymphomas and leukemias
