What is NCCT SI Joints?
Non Contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) SI joints (sacro-iliac joints) is a diagnostic procedure in which the rotating beams of X-rays are used to create cross sectional images of the SI joint. Why is NCCT SI Joints done?
- • To determine functioning and proper movement of the sacroiliac joints • To detect any fractures of the sacrum and iliac bones • To diagnose the cause of any persisting lower back pain • To detect any inflammation or infection of the joint and bones • To detect tumors or other masses in the sacroiliac region • To guide diagnostic procedures like biopsy or other therapeutic procedures
