What is DOTA NOC Scan?
The DOTA-NOC scan is an imaging test where a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) or Computed Tomography (CT) scan is performed after injection of a radiotracer dye known as DOTA and NOC. The special cameras are then used to create the images of pancreatic tumors. The DOTA-NOC imaging test is very specific and sensitive to diagnosis of pancreatic tumors.
Why is DOTA NOC Scan done?
- To image and diagnose gastropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors or pancreatic cancer, and detect metastasis
- As a follow-up test for patients who have been diagnosed or treated for pancreatic cancer
