Understanding Allergy Panel, Asthma / Rhinitis Screening Panel Adult
What is Allergy Panel, Asthma / Rhinitis Screening Panel Adult?
Allergy Panel-Rhinitis_Asthma Child test helps find out if a child has an allergy. There are two ways to do this test: a skin test or a blood test. The allergen is introduced to the body through a prick on the skin in a skin test. A blood allergy test records the number of antibodies, as this antibody is a response against allergens. An allergy testing is recommended for symptoms like running nose, wheezing, itching eyes, etc.
A panel test is used for the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis. In this test, a blood sample is taken from the patient to detect the IgE (allergen-specific immunoglobulin) antibodies level in the blood. If the IgE level is more than 100 ng/ ml, the test is positive for allergic rhinitis.

Interpreting Allergy Panel, Asthma / Rhinitis Screening Panel Adult results
Interpretations
* If your total IgE level is increased, it usually indicates that you are suffering from one or more allergies. Sometimes, increased levels are also associated with parasitic infections. * An elevated IgE indicates an allergic process but does not indicate what a person is allergic to. In general, the greater the number of things a person is allergic to, the higher is the IgE level.
