Overview
What is Arterial & Venous Doppler Left Upper Limb?
In this test, the blood flow through a blood vessel is checked by analyzing the reflection of sound waves. It helps to evaluate blood flow through veins. It is a safe and effective way to assess the blood flow and determine whether there are any narrowing/ blockages in the veins. Furthermore, it helps in the determination of stroke, deep vein thrombosis and vasculitis. Ultrasound is used to detect flow of the blood through veins. Common symptoms include pain, swelling and redness and clotting in veins.
It poses no radiation risk, is readily available in most clinical settings and is relatively inexpensive. The examination usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes, post which the radiologist makes an assessment and shares the report.
