What is ANF Screening?
ANA (antinuclear antibody) Screening is a diagnostic test used to determine the amount of antinuclear antibodies in a patient’s blood sample. This test is done to diagnose various autoimmune disorders, such as Lupus, Sjögren’s syndrome, mixed connective tissue disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon, Juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and Polymyositis and Dermatomyositis
The test is carried out by a simple blood test where the patient gives his blood sample in a sterile environment. The test calculates the ANA level in the blood sample. If the test is positive there are probable chances of autoimmune disorder. A negative result means that the livelihood of autoimmune disorders is less. The diagnosis of autoimmune disorders is tricky and the final diagnosis of the ANA test depends on the doctor.
