Overview
What is CD3?
CD3 is a marker used to determine whether a person has T cells lymphoma or leukemia. It is also conducted post blood cancer treatment and on patients who have been diagnosed with HIV and are suffering from weakened immune system.
Why is CD3 done?
You should get this test done if you have symptoms suggesting a leukemia or a lymphoma like
• Enlarged lymph nodes
• Itchiness or rashes on the skin
• Puffy skin
Interpreting CD3 results
Interpretations
The CD3 cells are made up of the sum of CD4 and CD8 cells, which is basically the entire count of t cells in a body. The standard count of CD4 cells, for a healthy individual should be anywhere between 500 and 1500.
