NABL, CAP, ISO
It measures the level of creatinine (a muscle waste product excreted in the urine) in the blood that helps to estimate the filtration rate of the glomerulus and is hence called estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (EGFR). Glomerulus is the filtration unit in the kidneys that is a network of blood vessels that basically filters the toxins out of the blood. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) can be evaluated directly also but that process is more complicated and hence, eGFR test is preferred. So, the estimation is done by a calculation of the serum creatinine test.
