Overview

What is MR Sinogram?

Sinogram is a special procedure to visualize any abnormal opening(sinus) in the body. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan test uses strong magnetic and radio waves to create detailed and clear 3D images. The MRI Sinogram uses a contrast dye that is injected into a patient before having the MRI scan. Contrast agents helps to improve the visibility in MRI. It is a radiation less test which creates images of the arm. These images can be stored on an electronic device which can be printed on a film. The complete procedure takes about 40-60 minutes.

Why is MR Sinogram done?

  1. To find out sinusitis or rhinosinusitis condition (inflammation of tissue lilning of sinuses)
  2. To detect allergic or infectious rhinitis and migraine headaches or blockage in the hollow canal of the sinus
  3. To diagnose any sinus tumors (abnormal mass growth/cyst/cancer)
