What is CD8?
CD8 is part of test, which also includes CD3 and CD4. A sample of blood is collected from the patient and is tested for the presence of these compounds. The presence of CD8 indicates T-Cell Lymphoma, a kind of cancer.
Why is CD8 done?
The CD8 test is performed when the doctor screens a patient against T-Cell Lymphoma. It is also conducted during and after the treatment for T-Cell Lymphoma, so that the doctor can check on the cancer’s progress.
