CECT Left Foot

What is CECT Left Foot?

Contrast Enhanced Computerized Tomography (CECT) scan of the left foot is a diagnostic procedure in which a contrast material is injected and the rotating beams of X-rays are used to create cross sectional images of the left foot which helps to form a three dimensional image. This image can be used to visibly assess foot anatomy and detect any associated problems.

Preparation for CECT Left Foot

  • Pregnant women should inform their doctor (and x-ray technician) as the radiations may affect the fetus. If needed, precautions can be taken to lower the radiation exposure to the fetus.
  • You may have to remove your jewelry and any metal objects which might interfere with the image.
  • Get the blood urea and creatinine test done to evaluate kidney function and to ensure safety of contrast before taking up the procedure.

Why Get Tested for CECT Left Foot?

  1. To detect any fractures of the bones of the foot
  2. To detect tumors (abnormal growth) or other lesions in the foot
  3. To detect deformations and malformations of the foot
  4. To detect any infections of the foot
  5. To diagnose flat foot and Cavus foot
  6. To guide and monitor biopsy or other operative procedures of the foot
