What is NCCT Scan Leg?
Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) Leg is used to visualize the thigh bone/ femur, lower leg bones (tibia and fibula) and the surrounding soft tissues like cartilage, tendon, ligaments, muscles, and blood vessels. NCCT leg is done to diagnose the cause of leg pain, and fracture of the bone. This test is also helpful in detecting any abnormal growth of the thigh muscles or surrounding soft tissues.
Why is CT Scan done?
- • To detect the fractures of the bones of the leg not visible on a simple X-ray • To detect the cause of any unexplained pain in the leg • To detect any infection, injury or inflammation of the soft tissues like the muscle, the tendons and ligaments of the leg • To diagnose any suspected infection, osteoporosis, deformities or abnormal growth of the bones and arthritis (inflammation of the joints)
