Piloric 300mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat and prevent gout. Gout happens when there is too much uric acid in your body and it forms into crystals which can appear around your joints and kidneys and cause pain. This medicine helps to keep uric acid levels low.

Piloric 300mg Tablet should be taken after food. You should keep taking it as recommended by your doctor even when you are not having a gout attack. If you stop, your symptoms may get worse because more crystals form in your joints and kidneys. You can help yourself by making some changes to your diet and drinking plenty of fluids.

Some of the common side effects of this medicine are rash, nausea, and vomiting. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms. Talk to your doctor straight away if you get symptoms of liver disease including nausea that does not stop, yellowing skin or eyes, or dark urine.

To make sure it is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have or have had heart failure, heart problems, stroke, kidney or liver disease or thyroid problems. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Check with your doctor. You will be asked for regular blood tests to check that your liver is working properly.

My bilirubin levels are higher than normal which is 1.85 against a range of 0.3 to 1.2. I do get my body tests done every year and it is high for several years now and not coming. As per neurologist treatment i have take oxitol 300mg tabs for 5 years doctor says after 5 years you should ok but now he says stop tablet and any problem come then consult me so plz tell me i am ok or no and in future feats are come or no and what about tablet take or stop. If u are seizure free for 5 years, you can nslowly withdraw and stop the drug.However, there's a small risk of fit occurring agian and then medicine has to be started again

I was affected by seizure disorder at May 2015. From may 2015 to till now my doctor consult the tablet named OXETOl 300MG(morning and night) and dicorate er 500Mg(night). After May 2015 still now I did not get seizure disorder. Is there any chance to reduce the Dosage of Tablet or change the tablet? How long should I take medicine? My MRI scan(may 2015) says mesial temporal sclerosis.

Q. What is the best time of the day to take Piloric?

Piloric can be taken at anytime of the day but preferably should be taken at the same time each day so that you remember to take it. It is usually prescribed once daily and should be taken after meals. If the dose exceeds 300 mg or if your stomach is upset, you can take it in divided doses as advised by your doctor.

Q. Why do I still get gout while taking Piloric?

If you have started taking Piloric, you may experience an increase in attacks of gout (severe pain, swelling, and redness). However, these attacks usually become shorter and less severe after several months of therapy. The possible reason for increased attacks could be gradual breakdown of uric acid crystals, causing fluctuations in uric acid levels in the blood. To prevent such painful events, your doctor may advise to take colchicine with Piloric, as it can suppress the gouty attacks.

Q. How long does it take for Piloric to lower uric acid levels?

It may take several months before you start feeling better or notice any significant reduction in attacks of gout (severe pain, swelling, and redness). Initially after starting Piloric you may experience gouty attacks. Continue taking Piloric even if you do not experience any considerable relief from the attacks. Do not stop taking Piloric without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will prescribe you another medicine along with Piloric to prevent the initial attacks. It may take up to years for the body to completely get rid of all uric acid crystals.

Q. What if I take alcohol while taking Piloric?

You should refrain yourself from consuming alcohol while taking Piloric as this could make your condition worse. Also, you should avoid all foods that are rich source of proteins as it will help to prevent attacks of gout. Consult your doctor for a detailed list of food items which need to be avoided. It is also recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water or other fluids while taking Piloric, unless your doctor has advised otherwise.

Q. Does Piloric cause drowsiness?

Yes, Piloric may cause drowsiness in some people. It can even make you feel giddy (dizzy) or you may have problems with coordination. It would be best to avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these side effects. However, if it is unavoidable then extreme caution should be exercised while performing such tasks.
