How Tiagabine works

Tiagabine controls seizures by increasing the levels of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

It is necessary to seek immediate medical attention or go to a nearby hospital.

Q. What if I vomit after taking Tiagabine?

If vomiting has occurred within 1 hour of taking Tiagabine, then you can repeat the dose. In case you vomit after an hour of taking the medicine, then it must have been absorbed and you need not take another dose. Contact your doctor in case of any queries and worries.

Q. Can phenytoin and Tiagabine be taken together?

Phenytoin may interfere with the working of Tiagabine. Therefore, the dose of Tiagabine may have to be adjusted if both are taken together.
