How menthol + chlorpheniramine + dextromethorphan + phenylpropanolamine works
This is a combination of four medicines: Menthol, Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan and Phenylpropanolamine which relieve dry cough. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion.
