Dioctylsodium sulfosuccinate is used for constipation, to evacuate the colon during rectal and bowel examinations and during anorectal surgery.

How it works

Dioctylsodium sulfosuccinate belongs to class of medications called laxative. It works by increasing the water content of the stool or increasing the secretion of water in the gut, thus making the stool softer and easier to pass.
