How Diazepam + Dicyclomine works

Diazepam + Dicyclomine is a combination of two medicines: Diazepam and Dicyclomine. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Dicyclomine works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) which in turn relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.

This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus. Symptoms include chest pain (heartburn) usually after eating, which might get worse at night, and difficulty in swallowing.

It is advised that you should only use Diazepam+Dicyclomine when it is clearly needed. It is known that this medicine passes into breast milk and may have serious side effects on an infant younger than 6 months of age.
