Baclofen topical gel is used for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced conditions such as pain, numbness, tingling and sensitivity to cold in hands and feet, cramping, shooting/ burning pains, pins and needles or pinpricks. It is also used to treat diabetic neuropathy (problem with nerves), trigeminal neuralgia (chronic pain condition) and symptoms of musculoskeletal pain such as back and neck pain, tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons - tissue attaching the muscle to the bone). Topical baclofen cream/gel preparations are used to treat nerve pain in patients those who cannot tolerate the side effects of the oral formulations.
