Uses of Xmetor Tablet SR

Benefits of Xmetor Tablet SR

In Diabetes with high cholesterol

Xmetor 10mg/1000mg Tablet SR helps control diabetes along with high cholesterol. It contains anti-diabetic medicines that help to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. It helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. Additionally, it also contains Atorvastatin, a medicine that works by reducing the amount of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and raising the amount of “good” cholesterol (HDL) in your blood. High levels of cholesterol can cause your blood vessels to narrow (atherosclerosis). Lowering the amount of cholesterol reduces the chances of heart diseases and helps you remain healthier for longer.
Managing blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems, and loss of limbs. Taking this medicine regularly along with proper diet and exercise will help you live a normal, healthy life.

How Xmetor Tablet SR works

Quick tips

  • Xmetor 10mg/1000mg Tablet SR is prescribed for the treatment of diabetes in patients with high cholesterol levels.
  • Take it just after a meal or with a snack to avoid stomach problems.
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. This is because Xmetor 10mg/1000mg Tablet SR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
  • Your doctor will monitor your blood sugar levels and kidney functions regularly while you are taking this medication.
  • Prolonged use of Xmetor 10mg/1000mg Tablet SR may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency which may lead to anemia, causing fatigue, pale skin, shortness of breath, or headache. Notify your doctor if you experience any of these as you may require supplements.
  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or on delaying/skipping a meal. Check your blood sugar levels and have a snack/sugar source for immediate relief.
  • If you get unusually thirsty, pass urine more frequently, and feel tired, you should let your doctor know. These are signs that there is too much sugar in your blood and your dose may need adjusting.
