Uses of Ximclav Tablet

Benefits of Ximclav Tablet

In Bacterial infections

Ximclav 100 mg Tablet helps treat infections that are caused by bacteria. It contains two medicines, Cefixime, and Clavulanic acid. Cefixime stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria. Clavulanic Acid enhances the activity of Cefixime against the bacteria as well as reduces resistance of the bacteria to the antibiotic. It also contains beneficial bacteria that protect the inner layers of your stomach and intestines. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back.
This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all the infectious bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How Ximclav Tablet works

Ximclav 100 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Cefixime, Clavulanic Acid, and Lactobacillus. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefixime. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefixime against bacteria. Lactobacillus is a live micro-organism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.
