Leucovorin Calcium(50mg)

Uses

Unifolin 0.5mg injection is used to prevent harmful effects of drugs like methotrexate, pyrimethamine, or trimethoprim when it is used to treat certain types of cancer. It is also used to treat anemia (lack of red blood cells) caused by chemotherapy (treatment with cancer medications).

How it works

Leucovorin calcium belongs to the class of medications called as folic acid analogues. It works by protecting healthy cells from the effects of methotrexate, while allowing it to enter and kill cancerous cells.

  • Do not take more than 25 mg of oral dose.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
