How to use Truzap Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Truzap Tablet works

Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Clonazepam and escitalopram, which has anxiety-lowering and mood-enhancing effects. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Escitalopram is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) which increases the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger that improves mood.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet can cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Truzap 0.25 mg/10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Maintenance phase after first episode of anxiety disorder lasts for 6 months,medicines are then gradually tapered off. Other substitutes are available but if you are better with it, it's better to continue because other antidepressant may or may not work adequately.

Q. Can the Truzap cause sleepiness or drowsiness?

Truzap may make you feel drowsy or you may fall asleep suddenly during your routine activities like watching television, talking, eating or riding in a car. You might not feel drowsy or have any other warning signs before you suddenly fall asleep. Avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities at the beginning of your treatment until you know how the medication affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such symptoms.

No, taking higher than the recommended dose of Truzap can lead to increased chances of side effects and toxicity. If you are experiencing increased severity of your symptoms that is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.

Keep Truzap in a container that is tightly closed and out of children's reach. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Unneeded medications should be disposed of in special ways to ensure that pets, children and other people cannot consume them.
