Do not start or continue Theocal-OD Tablet treatment if you have higher than normal levels of calcium in your urine (hypercalciuria).

Be cautious if you have an overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism).
Tell your doctor if you have thinning or weakening of bones (osteoporosis) caused by immobility or tumors.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Theocal with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Life-threatening

Ceftriaxone (Injection Route)

Do not consume Ceftriaxone with Calcium. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.

Moderate

Digoxin (Oral Route)

Concurrent use should be avoided. If essential, consult your doctor. Digoxin may increase the effect of Calcium.

Moderate

Chlorthalidone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Moderate

Pyrimethamine (Oral Route)

Ensure a gap of at least 4 hours between taking Pyrimethamine and Calcium. Calcium may decrease the absorption of Pyrimethamine.

Metolazone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.
