Introduction

Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is a medicine used for treating high blood pressure. By lowering the blood pressure, it helps in preventing future heart attack and stroke. Early treatment with this medicine also improves chances of survival in patients of heart attack. This medicine should be taken regularly with food at a fixed time each day. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly and should be taken strictly as advised by your doctor. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better. Dizziness may occur as a side effect in some patients but it gets better with time.

How Tel-Revelol Tablet ER works

Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Telmisartan and Metoprolol Succinate. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the chemical angiotensin, thereby relaxing blood vessels. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure. Together they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER. Taking Metoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER is recommended.
Liver
CAUTION
Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tel-Revelol 40/25 Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
