It is used to to treat and prevent and treat infection in wounds and as an antiseptic and first aid for minor cuts, grazes, burns, abrasions and blisters.

How it works

Povidone Iodine is broad spectrum antiseptic for topical use.  Povidone iodine liberates iodine in contact with the skin causing antiseptic action.

Sucralfate Topical(7%)


Sucralfate is used to treat ulcers of the mouth, stomach and other parts of the gut. It may also be used to treat burn wounds, and ulcerative skin conditions including diaper rash.

How it works

Sucralfate belongs to the class of medications called as ulcer protectants. It interacts with proteins that are present on the ulcer surface to form an ulcer adherent layer, which is protective in nature. Gut ulcers are protected against various irritants including acid. On skin ulcers, sucralfate exerts bacteriostatic properties, in addition to ulcer protective activity.

Tinidazole Topical(1%)


Tinidazole is used topically in combination with other antibiotics to provide relief from trichomoniasis (sexually transmitted disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis), amoebiasis (gastrointestinal infection caused by Entamoeba histolytica), and giardiasis (an intestinal infection caused by Giardia lamblia) and other infections caused by various fungi.

How it works

Tinidazole is a nitroimidazole that belongs to the class of medications called as antibiotics. It inhibits the synthesis of DNA in susceptible bacteria and parasites, killing these micro-organisms and curing the infection.

  • The affected area can be left uncovered or covered with a sterile bandage.
  • If you experience a skin rash, hives, or itching, or any other unusual reaction after using this product, discontinue use and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
  • Povidone iodine cutaneous spray powder is meant for external application and should not be instilled in eyes, nose, or mouth.

Q. Is povidone iodine the same as betadine?
Yes. Betadine is the brand (proprietary) name of povidone iodine.
Q. Is povidone iodine the same as iodine or iodine tincture?
No.  Povidone iodine is the stable chemical complex of povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone i.e. PVP) and elemental iodine. Iodine tincture has iodine and potassium iodide dissolved in ethanol and water. Both the formulations show antiseptic action.
Q. Does povidone iodine kill yeast, bacteria or fungus?
Yes. Povidone iodine being disinfectant and antiseptic inhibits the growth and development of microorganisms.
Q. Does povidone iodine burn, stain, sting or hurt?
Topical application of povidone iodine may cause slight irritation. Temporary staining of affected area is also possible. However, it is not a matter of concern and gets resolved quickly.
Q. Is povidone iodine safe?
Povidone iodine is safe when used at prescribed dose and duration as directed by doctor.
Q. Does povidone iodine contain alcohol?

It is advisable to keep a gap of at least 2 hours when taking sucralfate with Prilosec/ Nexium/ Tylenol/ Zantac/ ibuprofen and Pepto.
Q. Does sucralfate cause headaches/weight gain/insomnia/heartburn?
Sucralfate does not cause headaches/weight gain/insomnia or heartburn. If you experience any such symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Is sucralfate a narcotic drug?

Q. Is tinidazole or Fasigyn an antibiotic/sulfa drug?
Tinidazole is an antibiotic/anti-protozoal/anti-amoebic drug. It is not a sulfa drug.
Q. Is tinidazole the same as metronidazole/Flagyl?
Tinidazole is different from metronidazole (also called as Flagyl). However, both of them belong to the same class of drugs.
Q. Does tinidazole cure bacterial vaginosis, Chlamydial and urinary tract infection (UTI)? 
Tinidazole is effective in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis and Chlamydial infections. But it is not used for treatment of UTI.
Q. Does tinidazole cause yeast infections/diarrhea/cancer?
Prolonged use of tinidazole may cause candida or yeast infections. There is no evidence of tinidazole causing diarrhea or cancer. If you experience any such symptoms, please consult your doctor.
