Uses

Risedronate is used in the treatment of post menopausal osteoporosis (porous bones), osteoporosis in men (porous bones) and steroid induced osteoporosis (porous bones).

How it works

Risedronate belongs to a class of medication called as bisphosphonates. It acts by slowing bone breakdown process, increasing bone density (thickness), and decreasing the amount of calcium released from the bones into the blood.

Nausea, Esophageal obstruction, Osteonecrosis (reduced blood flow) of jaw, Abdominal bloating, Abdominal pain, Abnormal liver function tests, Allergic reaction, Bone pain, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Difficulty in swallowing, Eye swelling, Headache, Liver toxicity, Indigestion, Muscle weakness, Stomach inflammation, Instestinal inflammation
