Staxom 400mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in infections of urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organ, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

How to use Staxom Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Staxom 400mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Staxom Tablet works

Staxom 400mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. This treats your infection.

  • Your doctor has prescribed Staxom to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Discontinue Staxom and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Staxom 400mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Staxom 400mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Staxom 400mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy or light-headed, you may experience a sudden, transient loss of vision, or you may faint for a short period. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
SAFE
Staxom 400mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Staxom 400mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
Staxom 400mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Staxom 400mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available on the use of Staxom 400mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Staxom 400mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
