Avoid Somavent pd 50mg/1.25mg liquid with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
Somavent pd 50mg/1.25mg liquid may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Etofylline(50 mg)


Etofylline is used to prevent and provide relief from constriction of air passages (bronchospasm) that causes shortness of breath in various disorders of the lungs such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

How it works

Etofylline is a derivative of theophylline that belongs to class of medications called xanthines. It works in the airways by relaxing muscles, opening air passages to improve breathing, and decreasing the lungs response to irritants.

Terbutaline(1.25 mg)


Terbutaline is used to treat wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness caused by asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of lung diseases that includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema). It may also be used in premature labor.

How it works

Terbutaline belongs to a class of medications called beta agonists. It works by relaxing and opening the airways, making it easier to breathe.

  • Inform your doctor if you have any liver problems, thyroid disorders, high blood pressure, history of fits (seizures), or stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers).
  • Tell your doctor if you are a smoker or have history of smoking or alcohol consumption.
  • Use with caution if you are an elderly patient or have heart problems or hypoxemia (a condition related to very low oxygen levels in blood).
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience worsening of symptoms of asthma.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if allergic to etofylline, other xanthine derivatives or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if less than six years.
  • Do not take if history of heart attack or fits.
  • Do no take if suffering from stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers).
