Somatostatin(250 mcg)

Uses

Somastin 250 mcg injection is used in the treatment of bleeding esophageal varices (dilated blood vessels in food pipe) and acromegaly.

How it works

Somastin 250 mcg injection works by blocking the action of growth hormone. It also decreases bleeding from food pipe by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels.

Common side effects

Acute toxicity, Nausea, Rash, Stomach upset
