How Salvus Solution works

Loteprednol belongs to a class of medication called as ophthalmic corticosteroid. The exact mechanism of action is not known. They are thought to induce certain proteins (phospholipase A 2 inhibitory proteins) which inhibit the formation of other compounds like prostaglandin and leukotrienes which promote inflammation. As a result, the redness, swelling, and itching is relieved at the site of administration..
