Promal tablet is used in the treatment of malaria.
Side effects of PROMAL TABLET
Nausea, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Gastric intolerance, Headache, Indigestion, Loss of appetite, Mouth ulcer, Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth), Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhoea.
How to use PROMAL TABLET
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take Promal tablet with food.
How PROMAL TABLET works
Promal tablet is a weak base that reaches high concentration within the malarial parasite and causes accumulation of toxic heme pigment, which kills it.

- Take precautions to reduce the chances of being bitten by mosquitoes while on proguanil treatment.Start taking proguanil one week or at least two days before you enter the malaria area and continue to take it during your stay and for 4 weeks after leaving the malaria area.
- Take proguanil with a glass of water after meals to decrease the possibility of stomach upset.
- Tell your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant or if you are breast-feeding.
