How Pipracil Sodium Injection works

Pipracil sodium 4gm injection is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria by attacking their cell wall. Specifically, it prevents the synthesis of a substance in the cell wall called peptidoglycan, which provides the cell wall with the strength required for survival of bacteria in human body.

  • It is usually given by a doctor or a nurse as an injection directly into the vein or muscle.
  • Tell the doctor if you have to provide a blood or urine sample for any test because piperacillin and tazobactam may cause false positive results.
